Versatile vocalist Patti Austin bringing her jazz chops to San Antonio this Saturday
Grammy-winning vocalist Patti Austin, known for bringing a similarly joyous and clear-toned approach to both jazz and R&B, will perform this Saturday at the Carver Community Cultural Center. The daughter of a jazz trombonist and goddaughter of Quincy Jones and Dinah Washington, Austin began performing at the age of 4 and made her recording debut with soulful jazz albums in the '70s. As a session performer, she sang on recordings by Diana Ross, Paul Simon, James Brown, Roberta Flack and more.
