Texas Trip: The Black Angels talk about the enduring power of psych rock before San Antonio show
Pairing the sonic abandon of ’60s garage rock with wall-of-sound shoegaze aesthetics, The Black Angels emerged at the tail end of the aughts as one of the guiding lights of the modern psychedelic revival. The Austin-based outfit developed a rapid underground following thanks to acid-kissed releases such as Passover (2006) and Directions to See a Ghost (2008).
