Parasite actor Song Kang-ho discusses TV debut, international stardom
Considered one of the best actors of his generation in South Korea, Song Kang-ho is widely known for his role in the critically acclaimed 2019 film Parasite, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. It’s hard to believe that after a nearly 30-year career in film, Song is only now starring in his first TV series. In the period drama Uncle Samsik, Song plays the title character, a political operative whose mission is to keep his community fed at a time in history where everyone is living in poverty.
