New Orleans terror attack suspect was Texas native with Houston-area ties
The U.S. Army veteran whom authorities accuse of carrying out a deadly truck attack in New Orleans was a Texas native with deep connections to the Houston area, media reports and public records show. Shamsud-Din Jabbar, 42, killed 15 and injured dozens more early Wednesday after plowing through a crowd of New Year's revelers on Bourbon Street in a rented white Ford F-150, police said. Jabbar was raised in Beaumont and graduated from East Texas City's Central High School in 2001, the Beaumont Enterprise reports.
