Bexar County bans sale and use of certain rocket-style fireworks ahead of holidays
The rockets' red glare may be a familiar sight over Bexar County on the Fourth of July, but the county doesn't want to witness the sight over the Christmas and New Year's holidays. Bexar County has banned both the sale and use of fireworks it classifies as "skyrockets with sticks" and "missiles with fins," the Express-News reports. It enacted the temporary ban to avoid fire risks amid extreme drought conditions blanketing the area.
