Austin-based conspiracy theorist Alex Jones in a Thursday social media post said he’s ready to serve as president-elect Donald Trump’s press secretary. Yep, you read that right. A growing online campaign to elevate Jones — the guy on the hook for $1.1 billion in defamation damages for his repeated lies about the 2012 Sandy Hook elementary school shooting — to the position of White House press secretary is gaining steam.
