Texas House's voucher plan ties subsidies for private school tuition to public education spending

The Texas House on Thursday unveiled its version of a school voucher plan. Unlike a bill passed earlier this month in the Texas Senate, this one would tie money available for vouchers to public school funding. If passed, it would likely set up a contentious debate to iron out differences between the chambers' two proposals before a final bill can be sent to Republican Gov. Greg Abbott, who's demanded vouchers be a priority this session.
