Texas Democratic Party Chairman Gilberto Hinojosa is in hot water after telling Austin TV station KUT that supporting transgender rights hurt the party at the polls this election cycle. Tuesday's election yielded major Republican gains in Texas, and many GOP candidates went after their Democratic rivals with attack ads targeting their records on supporting trans rights. Donald Trump's margin of victory in Texas was the largest it's been for any president-elect in 20 years.
