Texas Democrat Colin Allred outraises Ted Cruz as campaign heads into home stretch

Democrat Colin Allred outraised Republican incumbent U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz in the third quarter for what's emerged as one of the most hotly contested races in the upper chamber. Allred pulled in a whopping $30 million in the past three months, compared to Cruz's $21 million, according to campaign filings. Even so, Cruz reported having $16 million cash on hand, while Allred's campaign didn't report what it currently has in the bank.
