Suspect accused of shooting 7 San Antonio police officers was out on bond at the time

The suspect accused of shooting and injuring seven San Antonio police officers at a Stone Oak apartment complex Wednesday night was out on bond at the time of the attack, according to the city's top cop. Police were called to the apartment complex on the 18700 block of Stone Oak Parkway around 8:30 p.m. to respond to a suicide in progress, San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said during an early morning press conference. A male in his 40s fired on officers as they arrived, he added. While McManus said in an earlier meeting with press that four officers were shot in the rampage, he updated that figure to seven at the morning presser.
