Spurs Jesus' pro-Project Marvel appearances may be because he works for Centro San Antonio

Minor local celebrity Spurs Jesus' recent appearances promoting Project Marvel may have less to do with him taking his cosplay adventures to new levels than with carrying out the duties for his day job. That's because Spurs Jesus, whose real name is Cordero Maldonado, actually works for downtown-promotion group Centro San Antonio as a membership and sales coordinator, according to the nonprofit's website. Silver and Black super-fan Spurs Jesus reemerged from obscurity last week to appear at a Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce's press conference where business leaders urged City Council to push ahead with a deal for a new Spurs arena, the crown jewel of the pricy and controversial Project Marvel development.
