San Antonio toddler injured in car accident at Montessori school playground has died

A year-old San Antonio toddler who was pinned under a car in an accident last month at the ExcellEd Montessori Plus School has died, school officials confirmed Friday in a statement. Mkaya Amrani was pronounced dead Thursday after sustaining life-threatening injuries during the Dec. 19 incident, according to the Express-News. As audience members left a holiday performance at ExcellEd's far Northside campus, a parent accelerated her vehicle, colliding with another car and crashing through the fence around the school's playground, according to the daily.
