San Antonio murder suspect Brad Simpson's business associate indicted for evidence tampering

The business partner of Brad Simpson — the local man accused of murdering his realtor wife after a domestic dispute — was indicted by a Bexar County grand jury this week on allegations he helped hide evidence, the Express-News reports. James “Val” Cotter, 65, is charged with tampering with evidence to impair an investigation and possession of prohibited weapons — both third-degree felonies, according to court records. Cotter is accused of hiding an AK-47 assault rifle belonging to Simpson behind a wall-mounted television at his Dominion home.
