A San Antonio couple whose pit bulls killed an 81-year-old Air Force veteran and triggered a contentious community debate over the city's loose-dog problem have struck a plea deal to avoid a trial, the Express-News reports. Husband and wife Christian Alexander Moreno and Abilene Schnieder plead guilty Tuesday to the charge of dangerous dog attack causing death, a second-degree felony, according to the daily.
