San Antonio councilman's second gun buyback takes 550 firearms off the street
District 9 Councilman John Courage's second-annual gun buyback drew hundreds of people who exchanged more than 550 firearms for H-E-B gift cards on Sunday, KSAT reports. Participants were required to turn in working weapons at the Alamodome in exchange for the cards, and no toys or broken guns were accepted. Those who handed over shotguns and hunting rifles got $100 cards, while pistols were worth $150 and assault rifles such as AR-15s were worth $200. “Our goal is to make people feel safer in their homes," Courage told KSAT.
