San Antonio U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro calls on Biden to federalize Texas National Guard

U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-San Antonio, called on the Biden administration to nationalize the Texas National Guard if Gov. Greg Abbott won't follow a Monday U.S. Supreme Court ruling that lets federal agents cut razor wire the state installed to deter border crossings. “Governor Abbott is using the Texas National Guard to obstruct and create chaos at the border,” Castro said in a statement. “If Abbott is defying [Monday’s] Supreme Court ruling, President Biden needs to establish sole federal control of the Texas National Guard immediately.”
