San Antonio Tex-Mex staple Lala's Gorditas to permanently close

South-of-downtown Tex-Mex favorite Lala’s Gorditas will permanently shut down on Christmas Eve, owner Steven Pizzini revealed Tuesday afternoon. Pizzini said he's shuttering Lala's, 1600 Roosevelt Ave., so he can begin his retirement. A third-generation restaurateur, Pizzini's family also operated the original Teka Molino and Taco Hut.
