Play on life of Texas Gov. Ann Richards to run at San Antonio's San Pedro Playhouse
San Pedro Playhouse will resume its 2024-2025 season this Thursday with the opening night of ANN, a one-woman play honoring political pioneer Ann Richards, the 45th governor of Texas. The play will run through Nov. 24. Written by Holland Taylor, directed by Melissa Utley and starring Anna Gangai, ANN recounts the late Richards’ rise to political prominence, including her slim but groundbreaking victory in the 1991 gubernatorial race and the misogynistic pushback she faced from members of both political parties.
