New pink honky tonk in downtown San Antonio will focus on Dolly and other female country artists

Downtown San Antonio is fixin' to get a new live country music venue, and it will flaunt a decidedly feminine flair. La Honky Tonk will open later this month in the space at 909 Broadway formerly occupied by Augie's BBQ, which closed earlier this year due to slow-crawling construction along the Broadway corridor. Co-owner Richard Bocanegra said he anticipates a Nov. 16 soft opening for the nightspot, which is in the midst of an interior finish-out.
