Last year was the hottest ever recorded in Texas based on average temperature, according to new data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, a record that follows a global trend as climate change advances. The average temperature in Texas measured 68.1 degrees last year, said John Nielsen-Gammon, the state climatologist.
