Illinois Gov. Pritzker says Texas National Guard has been deployed to Illinois
Illinois governor JB Priztker on Tuesday told reporters the Trump administration has begun sending Texas National Guard troops to Illinois, allegedly to quell its crime rate and support Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as it prepares to crack down on immigrant communities. Pritzker made the comments shortly after President Donald Trump held a Tuesday afternoon press conference to announce, among other things, that federal forces would be deployed to combat what he characterized as high crime in Chicago. "We have reason to believe that the Trump administration has already begun staging the Texas National Guard for deployment in Illinois," Pritzger said in a live update posted by ABC News.
