ICE and San Antonio authorities investigating after migrants found in back of tractor trailer
Local and federal authorities are investigating after witnesses on Tuesday reported a possible human smuggling operation in Southwest San Antonio, the Express-News reports. Several people are under arrest in connection with the probe, which centers around a parked tractor trailer rig, according to the daily. The site is near the area where 53 migrants died of heat-related ailments in 2022 after being trapped in the back of an abandoned truck as part of a human smuggling operation.
