Families with transgender kids sue to block Texas law banning gender-affirming care

With the support of the American Civil Liberties Union, five families with transgender children filed a lawsuit Wednesday asking a judge to block a Texas law that would outlaw gender-affirming care for minors. The lawsuit filed in Travis County District Court argues that the controversial Senate Bill 14 — one of seven bills signed by Gov. Greg Abbott this legislative session attacking the rights of LGBTQ+ Texans — violates the state constitution and fundamental rights to parental autonomy.
