Diwali San Antonio bringing India's Festival of Lights to downtown this Saturday

The 16th Annual Diwali San Antonio festival will bring music, dance, food, art and fireworks to Hemisfair and the Arneson River Theatre this Saturday. Billed by organizers as the nation's “largest city-sanctioned and city-sponsored Diwali festival," the free gathering celebrates India's Festival of Lights, which symbolizes the spiritual victory of good over evil. While Diwali technically spans five days, the San Antonio celebration packs all the revelry into a single night.
