As San Antonio negotiates a new police contract, data suggests it’s not reining in overtime abuse

New SAPD officers are sworn in at city ceremony. Last year, the department doubled its adopted overtime budget of $17.7 million, paying out more than $34.4 million. Some San Antonio police personnel are raking in $100,000 to $200,000 annually in overtime pay alone, according to documents obtained by the Current.
