Amid sky-high prices, study says San Antonio's H-E-B sells nation's lowest-cost eggs

Beloved San Antonio-based grocer H-E-B sells the nation's lowest-priced eggs, according new data from personal finance site FinanceBuzz. To compile the rankings, FinanceBuzz researchers analyzed the average price of a dozen large Grade A white eggs at each the nation’s eight biggest grocery chains, including H-E-B, Kroger, Giant Eagle, Meijer, Target, Walmart and more. The average price of those same eggs climbed more than 42% since Jan. 6, hitting $5.60 a carton on March 17.
